French Program
Canada is a bilingual country with two official languages:
English and French.
At BM Royal Daycare, we believe that introducing children to French from an early age gives them a valuable opportunity to develop familiarity, confidence, and a positive relationship with one of Canada's official languages.
The Government of Canada recognizes the importance of learning both official languages and supports opportunities for children to learn French as a second language from early childhood. Canadian Heritage notes that early exposure to French can promote French learning in later grades, contribute to bilingualism, broaden children's cultural horizons, and develop interest in Francophone cultures.

🌟 Why Start French Early?
Young children are naturally curious about sounds, words, songs, and communication.
During the early years, children have many opportunities to hear and experience language through:
songs and music;
stories and picture books;
greetings and everyday conversations;
games and movement;
classroom routines;
art and creative activities;
counting and simple vocabulary;
conversations with educators.
Rather than asking young children to memorize large amounts of vocabulary, our goal is to make French natural, enjoyable, and meaningful.
For example, children may hear:
Bonjour! — Hello!
Comment ça va? — How are you?
Merci! — Thank you!
S'il vous plaît. — Please.
Au revoir! — Goodbye!
Un, deux, trois! — One, two, three!
Through repetition and everyday experiences, children gradually become familiar with French sounds and expressions.
Why Is French Important in Canada?
French is not simply another foreign language in Canada.
It is one of Canada's two official languages, alongside English. The federal Official Languages Act promotes and protects English and French and supports opportunities for Canadians to learn both languages.
French is spoken across Canada, including in strong Francophone communities outside Quebec. The Government of Canada also notes that English or French language skills can be important for employment, education, accessing services, and participating in Canadian society. In many parts of Canada, knowing both official languages can be an advantage when looking for employment and participating in the community.
For children growing up in Canada, becoming comfortable with both English and French can therefore provide an additional foundation for their future education, communication, and career opportunities.

Early childhood is an important time for developing communication and language awareness.
At BM Royal Daycare, French learning is integrated into children's everyday experiences rather than treated only as a formal lesson.
Children can hear and use French while they:

This approach allows children to experience French in a positive and low-pressure environment.
The goal is not to make young children perfect French speakers.
Our goal is to help children:
