What Is Montessori?
The Montessori approach was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori and is based on respect for the child, hands-on learning, independence, and learning through purposeful activities.
Instead of asking children to sit and memorize information, Montessori encourages children to learn by doing.
Children may:
Choose from appropriate learning activities
Practice practical life skills
Explore sensory materials
Develop early language and mathematics skills
Build concentration and coordination
Learn to care for themselves and their environment
Work independently and with others
Develop confidence through meaningful accomplishments
Our Monessori Program
Helping Children Learn with Confidence, Independence, and Joy
At BM Royal Daycare, our Montessori Program provides children with a warm, carefully prepared environment where they can explore, discover, learn, and grow at their own pace.
We believe every child is naturally curious and capable of learning. Our educators guide children with patience and encouragement while giving them meaningful opportunities to make choices, practice new skills, and become increasingly independent.
❤️ Learning Through Respect and Encouragement
Our educators observe each child carefully and provide guidance based on the child's interests, abilities, and developmental stage.
We encourage children to try things for themselves while providing support when they need it.
For example, instead of immediately helping a child put on a coat, an educator may gently encourage:
"Would you like to try putting your arm through the sleeve?"
When the child succeeds, they experience something very important:
"I can do it!"
These small experiences help build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning.
🧩 Hands-On Montessori Learning
Our Montessori environment includes developmentally appropriate materials and activities that encourage children to explore concepts through their hands and senses.

English and French Learning
At BM Royal Daycare, we are proud to provide children with opportunities to learn English and French, Canada's two official languages.
Through songs, stories, conversations, games, routines, and daily interactions, children can naturally experience both languages in meaningful situations.
Our goal is not simply to memorize vocabulary. We want children to develop confidence, communication skills, curiosity, and a positive attitude toward language learning.
🌎 Learning Beyond the Classroom
Montessori learning is not limited to Montessori materials.
Children also learn through:
-
Outdoor exploration
-
Nature
-
Music
-
Art
-
Movement
-
Cooking and food experiences
-
Science exploration
-
Dramatic play
-
Group activities

Social interactions
Everyday experiences can become meaningful learning opportunities.
👩🏫 The Educator's Role
In our Montessori Program, educators are more than teachers.
They are observers, guides, role models, and supporters.
Our educators carefully observe children's interests and development and help create opportunities for each child to progress.
We encourage children to:
Explore → Practice → Discover → Master → Grow
🌟 Our Goal
Our goal is not to make every child learn the same thing at the same time.
Our goal is to help every child become:
Independent.
Confident.
Curious.
Respectful.
Kind.
Capable.
Ready to learn.
At BM Royal Daycare, we want children to leave each day feeling:
"I had fun. I learned something new. I can do it myself. I can't wait to discover more tomorrow!"
